The U.S Embassy in Ghana, has congratulated Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, for securing qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The message was shared on Sunday, October 12, 2025, following the team’s narrow 1-0 victory over Comoros, which sealed their place in the tournament.
The crucial match, played at the Accra Sports Stadium as part of the matchday 10 qualifiers, saw the Black Stars earn a deserved win over their Comoros counterparts. This victory marked another important milestone for Ghana on its journey to the global football stage.
The decisive goal came in the second half when Mohammed Kudus tapped in from close range to give Ghana the lead. This triumph propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 25 points, having drawn just once throughout the qualifiers.
