Upper West Regional Minister Charles Lwanga Puozuing has challenged investors, businesses and local authorities to turn the region’s economic potential into bankable projects that create jobs and improve livelihoods.
He said the region’s natural resources, agricultural strengths, cultural heritage and entrepreneurial population must translate into tangible investments rather than remain untapped opportunities.
Speaking at the Upper West Regional Investment Forum at the Dellagio Hotel in Wa, Mr Puozuing urged Municipal and District Assemblies to identify their competitive advantages, prioritise viable projects and actively engage the private sector to drive local economic growth.

He stressed that investment initiatives must deliver direct benefits to young people and women, particularly through employment creation and improved economic opportunities.
The Minister also called for stronger coordination between the Regional Coordinating Council and the assemblies, alongside transparent administration and predictable processes to build investor confidence.
He acknowledged the role of traditional authorities in mobilising communities and creating the trust needed to support development initiatives.
“Our people deserve results, not promises that remain indefinitely on paper,” he said.

Mr Puozuing challenged the forum’s organisers to conclude with a prioritised list of investment opportunities, designated focal persons and a mechanism for tracking progress to ensure that commitments translate into action.
He also urged investors and development partners to look beyond the region’s challenges and explore opportunities to contribute to its economic transformation.
The forum was organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre in collaboration with partner institutions.
