The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested 320 individuals in a large-scale operation targeting the QNET fraud network in Kumasi.
Out of the total number, 25 are being treated as key suspects, while 295 are believed to be victims of human trafficking and fake job scams linked to the scheme.
According to EOCO officials, the coordinated operation forms part of a nationwide effort to combat organised crime and protect the public from fraudulent activities perpetrated under the guise of legitimate business opportunities.
Preliminary investigations suggest that many of the victims were lured with promises of lucrative employment, only to be exploited and confined by operatives of the network.
Authorities say the suspects will be interrogated to assist in uncovering the full extent of the syndicate’s operations, while the victims are receiving support and protection.
EOCO has reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling such criminal organisations and urged the public to remain vigilant against investment and job offers that appear suspicious or too good to be true.
