The former flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has reignited hope amongst fire victims of Kumasi Adum.
In a show of support and solidarity to the traders at the Adum Blue light who had their businesses and capital being razed down by a fire incident last Friday, Kennedy Agyapong has assured of continuous commitment to help them rebuild their source of livelihoods.
This was made known in a press statement where he called on the traders to not lose hope but rather have a blind affirmation that they are not alone in this difficult moment.
He however called on the Ghana National Fire Service, the Police, and all relevant state security agencies to work together to find lasting solutions to tackle the rampant market fire incidents being recorded in the country.
“Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong is deeply saddened by the fire outbreak that has destroyed
several trading shops in Adum, the Central Business District of the Ashanti Region. His heart goes out to all the hardworking traders and families who have lost their livelihoods in this tragic
incident.
At a time when people are striving to rebuild their businesses, such a setback is truly heartbreaking. He wants you to know that you are not alone—we stand together as one nation.
As a businessman, he understands the immense effort required to build a business—the long hours, the sacrifices, and the hopes for a better future. To see it all taken away in an instant is painful beyond words. He feels your pain and shares in your frustration.
Market fires have become too frequent in our country, and it is time to take real action. He calls on the Ghana National Fire Service, the Police, and all relevant state security agencies to work together to find lasting solutions. We need safer markets, better emergency access, and reliable fire prevention systems. Protecting our traders means protecting Ghana’s future.
Although he is currently out of the country, he has dispatched a team to the affected area to assess the situation and provide support. Upon his return, he will personally visit the market to meet with the victims and traders to discuss the way forward.”
“To the steadfast people of Kejetia, Adum, Dr. Mensah, and Roman Hill—do not lose hope. Ghana is strong because of its people, and together, we will rebuild. Let us unite, support one
another, and work to prevent such tragedies in the future.
May the Almighty strengthen and comfort our mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters during these trying times.
God bless our homeland, Ghana.”
