When bread and butter dictates Journalism, analytical thinking suffers- Osmanu Amadu punches Paul Adom Otchere
Share on WhatsApp

The media in recent times has been described as the Forth Estate of the realm. The media is expected to check-mate society by feeding them with the right set of information.

Many media personnel inspite of the severe economic pressures prevailing in the country are still doing their best to stay the course of professional journalism by speaking truth.

This situation seems not to be what the mindset of Paul Adom Otchere is. The hitherto Good Evening Ghana show has not turned into Good Evening Npp as he has turned the program into the propaganda wing of the Npp’s communication which has led to a considerable drop in interest in the program.

Mr.Alan Kyerematen on the 25th of September 2023,when he launched the movement for change, made it clear that he was in for the youth and women and that he will actualise that dream by selecting a youthful person to partner him in contesting election 2024 apart from putting in place a comprehensive policy to address the challenges of the youth in his GTP.

This bold announcement by Alan during the launch which was repeated on several platforms by himself and his assigns was being closely monitored by Paul Adom Otchere and his cabal to see whether the promise will be kept.

On Wednesday the 11th of September 2024,Mr.Alan Kyerematen through to his words, named Elijah Kwame Owusu Danso,a forty year old Lawyer,Musician,Corporate person and a media personality as his running mate. The excitement that the announcement generated in the media space became a source of worry for the likes of Paul Adom Otchere who knows the link the running mate has with the youth of this country.

Paul Adom Otchere whose journalism is dictated by how much the stomach receives by way of food from corridors of power, immediately attempted to rubbish the pick of Alan by discussing the choice on his Good Evening Npp.

Paul begins by boldly stating that he told the world that when the campaign starts, people will

forget about Alan Kyerematen. Now let’s pause here and do a context analysis of this phrase alone.I am not too sure whether there is a specific date that is provided to all candidates to start campaigning and to the best of my knowledge Alan’s name remains on the lips of Ghanaians every given day including he Paul Adom Otchere.

If people will forget about Alan Kyerematen when the campaign starts which campaign started since 2021 after the inauguration of the President, why is it that Paul will spend precious airtime to discuss someone that he claims people have forgotten abòut him on his program? Does it make sense Paul? Clearly Paul knows how Alan’s candidature in this whole elections threatens his very survival as the Board Chair of the Ghana Airport Company.

Paul don’t worry for Alan is not vindictive and will appoint people who are qualified to man this country and so if you believe you are qualified to hold any position in this country,be rest assured that you have a stake in Alan’s administration.

On the issue of policy ownership that you were pushing that Alan should have, clearly you know that everywhere in this country,it is Alan’s Great Transformational Plan that is on the lips of many.

In fact the Six (6) clusters put forward by Alan stands tall and is no wonder all other political parties in one way or the other plagiarized portions of the plan. That is fine by Alan after all he wants Ghana to develop and so if people read a document and sees the sense in it and wants to copy, nothing prevents them. What is rather surprising is that in spite of the existence of this plan which plan you Paul have told many of your friends that it is a super document, which you deliberately denied its existence, you were rather pushing for Alan to be the one leading the charge in terms of policies in this campaign.

If i understood what Paul did last night, what it means is that you agree like many Ghanaians that your candidate Alhaji Bawumia is a not not not candidate. In fact Paul does not see his significance and relevance in the upcoming elections and that Alan should save the day.Well thanks for your compliments.

Indeed Alan’s Plan is above the comprehension of the average mind and so you are right. How can you have a candidate in an election and would not be proud to speak of his policies but rather decide to discuss Alan? The long and short of it is that Alan remains Npp’s nightmare and so would want to do everything possible to create the impression that Alan is not a force to reckon with.

The movement would want to encourage Paul to continue his free advertisement of Alan in his subsequent programs as he remains the only credible candidate available and that will be the only way Paul can revive his program Good Evening Npp.

I will urge Paul to go and read pages 24-27 of the GTP under the sub-heading Strategic Anchor Industries and that alone is enough to end his stomach politics since that will create enough jobs and wealth so journalists wouldn’t have to do jandam presentations.

Once again he attempted to draw in the Akan factor as Alan being an Akan and KOD being same.First of all KOD is from two regions,Central and Oti. In any case what Ghanaians need is not where someone comes from but who can provide where the next meal will be coming from.Baffuor Gyan and Asamoah Gyan were two footballers and anytime the two combined to score a goal for Ghana, hardly would you hear Ghanaians saying because they were brothers, Ghanaians were not happy.

But what was Mr. Pratt’s picture doing in the presentation? Indeed Paul has lowered the standards in journalism. We will still advise him that time is still on his side to go back to the basics.

In case you have lost a copy of the GTP,the movement will personally bring you one to read again so you are better educated on it.

The reference to the fact that many people did not stick to Alan and went back to the Npp was not only laughable but gave you out Paul.It was good you could cite only Adenta Kumi. In fact as we speak,Adenta Kumi is fighting with Lakulaku for monies he was promised which he claims Lakulaku is sitting on. It was only Adenta Kumi who left to rejoin Npp.The day he left to join the Npp,the movement for change received more than three hundred Npp members from Senya Breku.

Ghana definitely shall rise again.
