Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, has announced the immediate termination of contracts for all Regional and Zonal Coordinators of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).

This bold decision, effective immediately, signals a significant restructuring effort within the programme, which has been a cornerstone of Ghana’s social protection initiatives.

The GSFP, which provides meals to over four million children across the country, has been facing numerous challenges, including funding constraints and operational inefficiencies.

Dr. Lartey’s move is seen as part of a broader strategy to revitalize the programme and ensure it continues to serve its core purpose effectively.

In a statement, Dr. Lartey expressed her appreciation to the coordinators for their dedication and service to the nation.

The minister wished them well in their future endeavors and directed them to visit the GSFP Secretariat to collect their individual termination letters and receive instructions on the handover process.

“Fecding Programme (GSFP) are hereby terminated with immediate effect. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your service to the nation and wish you well in all your endeavors”

“Kindly visit the GSFP Secretarint for your individual termination letters and handing over instructions”.

This major shake-up is expected to pave the way for fresh perspectives and innovative approaches within the GSFP.

Dr. Lartey has emphasized her commitment to working closely with stakeholders to enhance the programme’s efficiency and expand its reach.

The move is seen as a step towards addressing long-standing issues and positioning the GSFP for greater success in the years to come.
