Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe widely known as Abronye has made explosive allegations against Samson Lardy Anyenini, host of JoyNews’ “NewsFile.”
The Nono regional Chairman of NPP claims that Anyenini received a $50,000 bribe from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to divert attention from a cocaine-related discussion on his program.
Speaking on Wontumi TV monitored by Kumasimail.com, Kwame Baffoe explained that the bribe was intended to influence Anyenini to invite Ntim Fordjour on “NewsFile” and discredit him, thereby shifting focus away from the cocaine issue, which Baffoe alleges is embarrassing to the government.
“Why are Ghanaians not asking that thief at JoyFM, Samson Anyenini, why he was given $50,000 on Friday evening to invite Ntim Fordjour on NewsFile and discredit him?
“He was given $50,000 because the cocaine discussion was embarrassing the government, so he should find a way to divert attention.”
Kwame Baffoe further accuses Anyenini of drafting unofficial messages on WhatsApp with NDC officials to achieve this goal.
“Sampson, on his own, drafted messages Friday evening. He and the NDC officials who brought him the money drafted those messages on WhatsApp. It was not from the official NewsFile page that he was reading”, he claims.
Baffoe’s accusations also question Anyenini’s professional integrity, suggesting that his legal practice does not generate sufficient income, leading him to seek financial gains through other means.
He alleged “You know I’ve already told you that Sampson Anyenini is a thief because his law profession does not earn him enough money. All that Sampson Anyenini does is go from minister to minister collecting money”.

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South and a ranking member on Parliament’s Interior and Defence Committee, abruptly exited Joy FM’s flagship current affairs programme, Newsfile, on Saturday, April 5, following intense scrutiny and backlash over controversial comments he made regarding alleged cargo flights landing at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) with huge sums of Cocaine and undisclosed amount of foreign currencies.
Rev. Fordjour, who also serves as the Deputy Minority Spokesperson on Defence and Interior, came under fire during the live broadcast after he repeated claims made at a press conference earlier in the week, alleging suspicious cargo flights landing at KIA during odd hours.
The press conference, held on April 1, was part of a broader campaign by the Minority in Parliament calling for transparency and accountability in the operations of the country’s airspace and border security.
However, during the Newsfile discussion, his claims were challenged by National Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, who also appeared on the programme.
Tensions escalated as the host of the programme, Samson Lardy Anyenini, read several critical text messages from viewers who questioned the credibility of Rev. Fordjour’s claims.
Shortly after, Rev. Fordjour informed the host that he could no longer continue with the programme and exited the discussion.
His sudden departure drew widespread attention on social media and from political commentators, with many questioning the basis of his allegations and the implications they carry for national security.
