The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang, has praised the ongoing construction of the Minerals Commission’s regional office, describing it as a symbol of regional pride and a testament to Ashanti Region’s pivotal role in Ghana’s mineral sector.
The Mayor made the remarks during a working visit to the project site at Ridge-Danyame. In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Hon. Ofori Boadi emphasized the importance of maintaining close engagement with all government institutions operating within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
“As Mayor, it is my duty to stay informed about all agencies under my jurisdiction so I can properly report to His Excellency the President when necessary,” he stated.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the work, noting that Kumasi deserves a state-of-the-art facility that reflects its contributions to Ghana’s mining industry. “Kumasi deserves a befitting facility like this, especially given our significant contributions to mineral extraction,” he said.
Construction of the Minerals Commission’s Ashanti Regional office commenced in December 2021 and is scheduled for completion by the end of August 2025. Upon completion, the facility is expected to strengthen the Commission’s operational capacity across the region.
The visit forms part of the Mayor’s broader agenda to support infrastructure development and ensure institutional effectiveness within the Kumasi metropolis.
