The Public Accounts Committee (PAC), in collaboration with the Auditor-General’s office, has recovered more than GH¢12.9 billion in misappropriated public funds.
The announcement comes as the Committee continues to scrutinize ministries, departments, and agencies over financial infractions highlighted in the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report.
PAC Chairperson Abena Osei-Asare, speaking on Wednesday, October 1, credited the recovery to the strong partnership between the Committee and the Auditor-General, stressing that accountability remains central to their work.
“What we are doing is yielding positive results. Through the work of the Public Accounts Committee, and with the support of the Auditor-General, we have retrieved GH¢12.9 billion. There is a detailed report on this, which will be shared with the public at the appropriate time,” she stated.
The PAC is scheduled to resume its public hearings on October 27, 2025.
