The Board Chairman of the Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas), Kofi Totobi Quakyi, has reaffirmed the company’s strong commitment to productivity, accountability, and integrity as core values guiding its next phase of transformation and sustainable growth.

Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), Hon. Totobi Quakyi described 2024 as a “defining year” for Ghana Gas  one that delivered remarkable operational achievements as well as important governance lessons.

According to the Board Chairman, Ghana Gas exceeded its revenue targets and recorded major milestones, including

he acquisition of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company, a strategic move supporting Ghana’s ongoing energy transition.

He added the completion of a 3.8-kilometre pipeline extension to the Tema Free Zones enclave and signing of a landmark Gas Sales Agreement with Tetracore Limited for Ghana’s first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) project and steady progress on the Gas Processing Plant II (GPP II) project.

While commending management and staff for their performance, Hon. Totobi Quakyi also addressed governance and compliance issues raised in the 2024 audit report, calling for greater discipline and transparency across all operational levels.

“Highlighting these issues is not about assigning blame,” he stated, “it is about drawing lessons and applying them with greater discipline as we move forward.”

He emphasized that the company’s renewed focus on accountability and reform will strengthen its governance structures and enhance stakeholder confidence.

In closing, the Board Chairman expressed optimism about Ghana Gas’s future, noting that the experiences of 2024 have laid a solid foundation for both reform and growth.

“Ghana Gas is now positioned not only as a reliable processor and supplier of natural gas but also as a benchmark for good corporate governance and impact-driven development,” he added.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the Board’s commitment to uphold transparency, innovation, and operational excellence as Ghana Gas continues to play a vital role in the country’s energy and industrial development agenda.
