The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Elections Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu, has announced that all aspirants in the upcoming NPP presidential primaries will receive a provisional voter register on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
According to the former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the register will enable aspirants to verify the details of delegates and provide feedback before the final compilation ahead of the party’s presidential election scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2026.
Speaking during a briefing on the committee’s preparations, the former Asante Bekwai Member of Parliament emphasized that the decision to share the register early forms part of efforts to promote transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
“In the interest of full transparency and fairness, all aspirants will be furnished with the provisional voter register on Thursday, November 13. They will be given the opportunity to review, observe, and provide feedback before the register is finalized,” he stated.
Mr. Osei Owusu also clarified that party members who have forfeited their membership under Article 3(9)(1) of the NPP Constitution will be excluded from the voting process.
“Members who have forfeited their membership under Article 3(9)(1) shall not participate in or vote in the presidential election,” he stressed.
He further outlined several key activities the committee will undertake in the lead-up to the elections. These include meetings with presidential aspirants to discuss the election roadmap and guidelines, engagement with the Electoral Commission and the National Council of Elders, as well as a peace pact to be signed by all aspirants before the polls.
The NPP’s presidential primaries are expected to determine the party’s flagbearer for the 2026 general elections, with the committee assuring stakeholders of a credible and transparent process.
