The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced that entrance examinations and interviews for admission into its School of Medical Sciences (SMS) and School of Dentistry (SoD) for the 2025/2026 academic year will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
According to a notice issued by the Office of the Registrar, the examination is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. at the Lecture Hall Complex, Boadi Medical Enclave.
The entrance exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Verbal/Quantitative Reasoning.
Eligibility Requirements
KNUST outlined the following categories of eligible applicants:
- A-Level candidates with an aggregate score of 08 or better, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and General Paper.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) candidates.
- WASSCE applicants for Medicine, who must obtain an aggregate of 8 or better.
- WASSCE applicants for Dentistry, who must obtain an aggregate of 12 or better.
For WASSCE applicants, aggregates are calculated using grades from three core subjects—English, Integrated Science, and Core Mathematics—and three electives: Chemistry, Biology, and either Physics or Elective Mathematics.
Items Required for Examination
Applicants must bring:
- Two HB pencils
- Two pens
- One eraser
- One scientific calculator
- A national ID such as the Ghana Card
- Two passport-sized photographs
Mobile phones and wristwatches are strictly prohibited, and violations will result in automatic disqualification.
Interview Guidelines
Candidates who qualify for interviews are required to dress formally and present a completed Interview Application Form, which can be downloaded from the KNUST website.
Exam Fee and Payment Details
The entrance examination fee is GHC 400 and must be paid into the designated GCB Bank accounts for either the School of Medical Sciences or the School of Dentistry. Applicants are required to use their Application ID as the payment reference and present the bank pay-in slip at the examination venue.
Accommodation
KNUST announced that accommodation is available at the GUSSS Hostels (Brunei) at a rate of GHC 20 per bed per night.
Caution Against Middlemen
The university cautioned applicants not to engage middlemen or agents, stressing that selection is based strictly on merit.
