The Minister for the Interior and Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has distributed school desks and vocational equipment to support education and youth employment initiatives in his constituency.
The exercise, which took place on Thursday, saw the distribution of desks to several public and selected private schools across the constituency. The initiative is aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions for students.

The programme was carried out with support from the Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, Ben Abdallah Alhassan, while municipal chief executives from Oforikrom Municipality and Tafo Municipality were also present.

In addition to the desks, the minister oversaw the distribution of vocational startup equipment to young people enrolled in his long-running Youth Employment Module.
Beneficiaries received 105 industrial sewing machines, 30 hairdryers, and makeup lights to support their training in fashion design and cosmetology.

A total of 137 youth are currently enrolled in the programme, which was established over a decade ago to equip young people with employable skills.

Under the initiative, participants are attached to master craftsmen and women to receive hands-on training in various trades, including fashion design, hairdressing, carpentry, fabrication, and electrical work.

Trainees are required to pass examinations supervised by the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) before qualifying to receive startup equipment.

Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their continued support, noting that such collaborative efforts are essential to building a prosperous society.
