The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, Dr Sebastian N. Sandaare, has committed educational equipment worth about GH¢300,000 to two technical institutes in the constituency to strengthen ICT, teaching and administrative work.
The intervention, presented on Thursday, September 24, 2026, went to Daffiama Technical Institute and Bussie Technical Institute, both of which are listed among the constituency’s public TVET institutions.
The items include desktop computers, laptops, HP printers, photocopiers, file cabinets, office accessories, streetlight sets and other learning support materials.
Dr Sandaare said the intervention was intended to provide the schools with basic equipment needed to improve teaching and learning while strengthening their administrative capacity.
“As your Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, I am presenting these sets of computers, laptops, printers, file cabinets and others to help improve education in our new technical institutes,” he said.
He said strengthening technical and vocational education was necessary to equip young people with practical skills relevant to the job market.
The MP said the intervention also formed part of his commitment to education and efforts to support the development of skilled human resources in the constituency.
The GH¢300,000 package was received on behalf of the schools by the District Director of Education, Madam Saadia Gbolo, at a brief ceremony at the District Education Office in Daffiama.
Madam Gbolo thanked the MP for what she described as continued support for education in the district and assured that the equipment would be put to proper use.
The Acting Principal of Bussie Technical Institute, Michael Kombor, and the Principal of Daffiama Technical Institute, Datuoh Sebastian, also expressed appreciation for the intervention.
They said the equipment would help the institutions provide a better learning environment for students and improve their administrative operations.
The presentation was witnessed by traditional leaders, the Presiding Member, Ghana Education Service staff and other stakeholders.
Daffiama Technical Institute currently offers programmes including Garment/Fashion Technology and Catering and Hospitality Management, while Bussie Technical Institute offers Wood Technology, Building Construction and Garment/Fashion Technology.
Dr Sandaare reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education as part of efforts to improve development outcomes in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency.
