Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene has initiated a comprehensive investigation following reports of a Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) student sustaining critical injuries during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) “Thank You Tour” in the region.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Dr. Amoakohene expressed deep concern over the incident, describing the circulating images and reports as “disturbing.”
He emphasized the need for a thorough inquiry to ascertain the circumstances leading to the student’s stubbing and sporadic shoot to ensure accountability.
“We urge the NPP leadership to ensure the tour is conducted peacefully to safeguard the security of our beloved region,” Dr. Amoakohene stated.
As the investigation unfolds, the Ashanti Regional Minister has assured the public of his commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
He has also pledged to provide updates on the findings of the probe and any subsequent actions taken to address the issue.
