Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has officially withdrawn from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) nationwide “Thank You Tour,” www.kumasimail.com can confirm.

This decision follows a violent incident that occurred on Tuesday, April 29, at the Bantama Constituency during the party’s tour led by national executives.

According to reports, after the event, a group of heavily built men allegedly transported to the venue by one Ali Suraj attacked a student from KNUST’s Unity Hall.

The attack reportedly occurred during an attempt to forcibly seize money that had been thrown to the students by Maxi, a car dealer and known supporter of Kennedy Agyapong.

The student, who suffered a knife wound during the altercation, is currently being prepared for emergency surgery at the hospital. Kennedy Agyapong and his team are at the medical facility, as of 11:00 p.m., ensuring the victim receives the best possible care.

In reaction to the incident, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has decided to pull out of the NPP’s “Thank You Tour,” George Sarpong, a member of his team, told www.kumasimail.com in an exclusive interview.

Meanwhile Kennedy Agyapong has officially reported the incident to Bantama police station for the suspects to be arrested.

The Kennedy Agyapong team is expected to hold a press conference in Kumasi tomorrow to address the matter.

More updates to follow…
