Several individuals sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle accident at Krofrom in the Kumasi Metropolis on Friday afternoon evening, following a heavy downpour.
The incident occurred when a cargo truck reportedly lost control while descending from the Krofrom traffic light toward Ashtown.
According to eyewitness accounts, the truck veered into oncoming traffic near the X5 Pub, crashing into multiple vehicles and trapping occupants inside.
Bystanders and good Samaritans quickly intervened, managing to extricate several individuals from the wreckage before emergency services arrived.
The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. As of Friday evening, the exact number of casualties had not been confirmed.
The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash and is urging motorists to exercise heightened caution, especially during adverse weather conditions.
