Minister of the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has commissioned the Qatar Charity Polyclinic at Ayigya Zongo in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The facility, according to the minister, is expected to improve access to healthcare for residents of Ayigya Zongo and surrounding communities by providing essential medical services closer to the people.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Municipal Chief Executive for Oforikrom, Anwel Sadat Ahmed, the Country Director of Qatar Charity Ghana, the Oforikrom Municipal Health Director, staff of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, as well as religious and traditional leaders.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Mr Muntaka said the facility would help reduce the long and difficult journeys residents have had to undertake to access essential healthcare.
The polyclinic is equipped with a children’s ward, male ward, delivery room, pharmacy, administration and records units, among other facilities.

The Interior Minister expressed gratitude to Qatar Charity Ghana for supporting the project, saying the intervention would contribute to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving the well-being of residents.
Mr Muntaka also announced plans for the construction of multipurpose AstroTurf parks at Ayigya, Tafo and Aboaso.

He said the projects formed part of efforts to improve sports infrastructure and create more opportunities for young people in Zongo communities.
The minister further expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and his government for what he described as continued support towards the development and well-being of communities.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working with stakeholders to bring development projects and essential services closer to residents.
