Three persons have died in an accident on the Techiman – Wenchi highway in the Bono Region.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning at Nkonsia a farming community in the Wenchi Municipality when a Kia rhino with registration number AS 7102-13 loaded with cashew nuts collided with Daewoo Matiz taxi cab with registration number GN 356-19 from Wenchi direction to Techiman .
Divisional Officer 2 (DO II) , Mr Eric Boateng , the Wenchi Municipal Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service told our correspondence Nana Anfreh Damanata, that the Kia rhino failed break and veered off its lane and crashed into the Daewoo matiz.
Two males in the Daewoo matiz died on the spot .
According to him one female who was also in the Daewoo matiz was sent to the Wenchi Methodist hospital later pronounced dead.
DO II, Eric Boateng further explained that the mate of the Kia rhino sustained minor injury on his forehead and receiving medical treatment at the Wenchi Methodist hospital.
Bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Wenchi Methodist hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy he said.
