The Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim, has affirmed the constituency’s readiness to collaborate with any individual appointed by the President as District Chief Executive (DCE), emphasizing a commitment to unity and development over partisanship.
Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC FM monitored by Kumasimail.com, Anim stated, “We are here to serve, regardless of who the President appoints as DCE in Kumawu; we are ready to work with that person.”
The legislator highlighted recent efforts to foster cooperation across political lines, recalling his engagement with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman during a period of severe flooding in local schools.
“Even in the absence of the MCE, we have already engaged with the leadership of the NDC in my constituency in finding solutions to some problems, and so we will continue this relationship for accelerated development,” he said.
Anim stressed that the overarching goal for Kumawu is development, not political rivalry.
“All we want at Kumawu is development,” he noted.
He added that the constituency’s assembly, which comprises 25 electoral areas, is prepared to work with the incoming DCE, provided there is mutual cooperation.
“We are the majority in the constituency. At the Assembly, we have 25 electoral areas. I will not say the Assembly is partisan, but we have over 20 members on our side.
“So, if you are the DCE and you refuse to work with us, it simply means you want to fail” he remarked.
