The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the operating license of Evanex Gold Enterprise, a Tier 2 licensed gold buyer, following findings of illegal gold pricing practices.
In a compliance notice issued on Thursday, GoldBod said the suspension takes immediate effect after an adverse investigative report revealed that the company had engaged in gold pricing activities contrary to the terms and conditions of its license.
The Board has directed all licensed traders, miners, and the general public to refrain from conducting any gold-related transactions with Evanex Gold Enterprise.
“Notice is hereby given to all licensed traders, miners and the general public to desist from trading and/or engaging in any form of gold transaction with Evanex Gold Enterprise forthwith,” the statement read.
GoldBod emphasized its commitment to enforcing regulations governing the gold trading sector, stressing that the move reflects its dedication to accountability and transparency.
The suspension is part of ongoing efforts by the Authority to sanitize the gold market and ensure compliance with established laws.
