Global Info Analytics Boss shrugs off NPP’s ‘Lotto Forecaster’ attacks

Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah, has defended the credibility of his organization’s election polls following the Akwatia Constituency by-election held on Monday, September 2, 2025.

Mr. Dankwah said that despite criticisms from some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), who dismissed his projections and likened him to a “lotto forecaster,” the outcome of the poll has vindicated his work.

“I am happy that my prediction came to pass and haven’t been taken to the slaughterhouse,” he remarked.

He explained that many voters are often reluctant to disclose their political preferences during surveys, which sometimes creates the perception of inaccuracies. “Many people can’t read, so we are forced to ask them orally who they’d vote for during our polls, and that’s where they lie,” he said.

Commenting on the by-election outcome, Mr. Dankwah argued that the NDC’s choice of candidate was decisive. According to him, the opposition party would have risked losing the seat had it presented Henry Boakye Yiadom instead of its eventual candidate. He further suggested that “anybody else would have done better than the NPP’s Solomon Asumadu” in the race.

Mr. Dankwah emphasized that political parties, particularly the NPP, must place greater trust in scientific research and polling if they wish to better understand electoral dynamics. “The NPP will keep doubting science if they keep doubting my polls,” he cautioned.

Responding to critics who accuse him of engaging in superstitious practices, he stressed that as a Muslim, his faith strictly prohibits sports betting and voodooism.

The Akwatia by-election was occasioned by the passing of the sitting MP, Ernest Kumi.
