The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched investigations into an alleged assault on a final-year student of Techiman Senior High School (SHS) by two teachers of the institution.
The investigation follows the circulation of a video on social media showing an alleged assault on a student, an incident which GES has described as disturbing.
In a press release dated October 31, 2026, and signed by its Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Service identified the two teachers involved as Jerry Jones Owusu Bekoe and Adusa Ameyaw.
GES said the school’s disciplinary committee had held its initial hearing into the matter, with its findings expected to be submitted to management through the Regional Directorate in the coming days.
The findings are expected to guide management’s subsequent actions and decisions on the incident.
The affected student, identified as Seedorf Abeka Ampah, is a final-year Agricultural Science student. According to the statement, he has received medical attention and is responding positively to treatment.
Meanwhile, the Service has appealed to the general public to remain calm while investigations into the alleged assault continue.
GES assured the public that thorough investigations were underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and inform the appropriate action.
