The General Secretary of the Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, has cautioned four Ashanti Regional executives against making public statements or engaging the media over a petition challenging appointments to newly created regional executive positions.
The caution follows a petition dated October 28, 2026, submitted by Bernard Amofa Jantuah, Ashanti Regional Chairman; Dennis Kwakwa, Regional Organiser; Beatrice Owusu, Regional Women’s Organiser; and Martin Ameyaw, Regional Youth Organiser.
In a letter acknowledging receipt of the petition, Mr Kodua Frimpong said he had taken note of the concerns raised and would, in due course, meet with the Ashanti Regional Steering Committee to discuss the matter and other related issues.
The petition reportedly seeks the cancellation of appointments made to the newly created Ashanti Regional Executive positions and the supervision of a fresh process.
According to the General Secretary, the planned engagement with the Regional Steering Committee would provide an opportunity for a thorough consideration of the concerns raised and the determination of an appropriate way forward.
Pending the outcome of the deliberations, Mr Kodua Frimpong cautioned the four executives to refrain from making public statements, participating in media discussions or engaging in social media commentary on the matter that could bring the name of the Party into disrepute.
He assured the petitioners that they would be informed of the outcome of the discussions and any further steps to be taken.
The letter was copied to the National Chairman and the Ashanti Regional Steering Committee.
