The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) has issued directives to essential government workers and exempted institutions in line with arrangements for the funeral and burial of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
In a public announcement signed by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the ARCC stated that all essential government workers are required to wear their official service uniforms and carry valid identification cards throughout the period.
The statement further directed that, as much as practicable, essential workers should commute to and from their duty stations in official government vehicles.
Additionally, the ARCC emphasized the need for full compliance with movement restrictions.
Exempted institutions and essential workers are advised to cooperate with security personnel and other regulatory agencies responsible for enforcing the restrictions during the burial period.
“The ARCC appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders in ensuring a smooth and dignified observance of the funeral and burial arrangements of the late Asantehemaa,” the release noted.
The burial rites of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, revered as queen mother of the Ashanti Kingdom, continue to draw widespread attention, with the Kumasi metropolis expected to experience significant restrictions as part of the solemn observances.
