NPP refers petitions against Owusu Bempah to National Council

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially referred multiple petitions against its Deputy Director of Communications, Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah, to the party’s National Council for further action.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, and signed by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party noted with “grave concern” the conduct of Mr. Bempah, which has triggered formal complaints from within its ranks.

The General Secretary revealed that the party headquarters has received petitions from members calling for Mr. Bempah’s removal from office.

However, because his appointment was made based on the recommendation of the National Executive Committee and subsequently approved by the National Council, the issue has been referred to the Council for appropriate review and decision.

The Party reaffirms its unwavering commitment to upholding discipline, safeguarding its values, and ensuring that all matters are handled with fairness and transparency,” the statement added.
