The National Secretariat of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has called on all teacher trainees across the country to remain calm following widespread concerns about the newly released fee structure for the 2025/2026 academic year.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 24, and signed by TTAG General Secretary Victor Atsu Anyidoho and President Nanija Divine, the Association assured trainees that leadership has initiated engagement with key education stakeholders to address the issue.
These stakeholders include the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF), the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and the Ministry of Education.
According to the statement, discussions are underway to ensure clarity and fairness in the determination of the new fees. TTAG emphasized that it remains committed to protecting the collective interests and welfare of all teacher trainees in the country’s 47 public colleges of education.
In the interim, the Association advised trainees to refrain from making any payments until the issues surrounding the new fee structure are fully understood and an official directive is communicated.
“Let us remain calm, united, and confident in the process,” the statement said, assuring members of TTAG’s commitment to transparency and advocacy.
The Association reaffirmed its dedication to building a strong front that prioritizes the welfare of teacher trainees, concluding with the slogan, “Teacher Trainees at heart! TTAG, we mean well!”
