The national chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has pledged that the party will retrieve every pesewa of public funds misappropriated by individuals who have “chopped Ghanaian money,” as part of efforts to ensure accountability under the new administration.

Speaking during the NDC’s Thank You Tour of the Bono East Region, Asiedu Nketiah popularly known as General Mosquito said the party remains committed to integrity, discipline, and honest leadership following its victory in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, the NDC made a firm promise during the campaign to return to thank the people if elected, and the ongoing regional tour is a fulfillment of that pledge.
“We promised the people that if they gave us their votes, we would come back to thank them and today, we are here to honour that promise,” he said.
The tour covered constituencies in the eastern part of the region, including Atebubu-Amantin, Sene East, Sene West, Pru East, and Pru West, where party supporters, traditional leaders, and residents welcomed the national leadership.

Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, expressed appreciation to the NDC National Chairman and the party leadership for prioritising the region, particularly its underserved eastern corridor.
He assured residents that the NDC government would focus on addressing long-standing developmental challenges in the area, including poor road networks, limited electricity coverage, inadequate water supply, security concerns, and access to quality education.

Mr. Owusu Antwi added that plans are underway to expand educational infrastructure, including the establishment of tertiary institutions, to boost human capital development in the region.
The NDC Thank You Tour is aimed at strengthening ties with grassroots supporters, reaffirming campaign promises, and outlining the government’s development agenda for various regions across the country.
