The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has arrived in South Africa to participate in the 2026 African Mining Indaba, Africa’s largest mining investment and policy conference.
Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah is leading Ghana’s delegation to the annual forum, which brings together governments, global mining companies, investors and regulators to discuss investment opportunities, policy direction and sustainable mineral development across the continent.
The minister is expected to take part in a series of high-level dialogues and strategic engagements focused on key challenges facing the mining industry, including responsible resource development and attracting long-term investment.
A major highlight of Ghana’s participation will be the highly anticipated “Ghana Day” event, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 11. Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah will headline the event, which aims to showcase Ghana’s mining potential and promote the country as a preferred destination for investment in the extractive sector.
As Africa’s leading gold producer, Ghana is using the platform to deepen investor interest and highlight reforms and opportunities within its mining industry.
Ghana’s presence at this year’s Indaba aligns with the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to strengthen the mining sector through expanded global partnerships and targeted strategic investments, officials said.
The African Mining Indaba 2026 is expected to set the agenda for mineral development on the continent, with a focus on sustainability, policy certainty and value creation.
