The Ghanaian government says it has received reports that a truck carrying tomato traders from Ghana was caught up in a suspected terrorist attack in northern Burkina Faso.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the government said the incident occurred in Titao on 14 February 2026. It described the information as “disturbing” but did not provide details on casualties or the number of Ghanaians involved.
The Ghanaian embassy in Burkina Faso is liaising with local authorities and is expected to visit the scene of the attack to gather further information and help identify any Ghanaian nationals affected.
Officials said more details would be communicated to the public as they become available.
The statement was signed by Interior and National Security Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.
