The traditional Papaanntwie Festival has returned to Kumawu after a 19-year hiatus, rekindling cultural celebrations and community activities in the town.
The revival of the festival was marked with a health walk through the principal streets of Kumawu attracted respected hundreds of native outside the Ashanti region to return home Including Dr. Kwabena Duffour Junior and the entire duffuor Family.
On the opening day, drawing residents, youth groups, and community leaders together in a show of unity and cultural pride.

Celebrations are continuing with a major music concert headline performances by Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and Medical.
The revival of the festival has been credited to the efforts of the Omanhene of the Kumawu Traditional Area, Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, who has worked to restore the long-standing cultural event.
Organizers say the return of the Papaanntwie Festival is aimed at strengthening community bonds, celebrating the cultural heritage of Kumawu, and promoting development in the area.

Local authorities and residents have welcomed the revival, expressing hope that the festival will once again become a major cultural attraction in the Ashanti Region after nearly two decades of inactivity.
