The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has praised Senior High School students in the Ashanti Region for their artistic work showcased at the Asokwa Interchange during AshantiFest 2026.
In a Facebook post following a visit to the site, Asiedu Nketia described the mural paintings as impressive and a strong reflection of the creativity, skill, and dedication of the students.
He noted that the artworks have transformed the public space into a visual representation of Ghana’s culture, history, and aspirations.
The murals were created as part of AshantiFest 2026, an initiative aimed at promoting arts and culture in the region.

Asiedu Nketia also commended the Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene, and his team for their role in establishing the festival.
He highlighted the initiative as an innovative platform that promotes visual arts education and underscores the importance of art in national identity and urban development.
He made the remarks during his Ashanti Regional “Thank You Tour,” expressing appreciation to the organisers and participating students for their contributions.

The NDC Chairman encouraged the students to continue developing their talents, describing their work as a source of pride and inspiration.
