The main speaker for the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Gregg T. Johnson, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to uphold his Christian values as he leads the country.
Rev. Johnson, Assistant District Superintendent of the New York Ministry Network of Assemblies of God, USA, made the call when he paid a courtesy call on President Mahama and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, in Accra.
He commended the Mahama administration for introducing a Code of Conduct for government officials, efforts to stabilise the economy and investments in infrastructure.
Rev. Johnson also congratulated President Mahama on his re-election and encouraged him to remain guided by his Christian values in the discharge of his responsibilities as President.
The delegation was led by the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, who briefed the President on the purpose of Rev. Johnson’s visit and preparations for the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting.
President Mahama welcomed Rev. Johnson and expressed appreciation for his visit and the continued support and prayers of the Church for his administration.
He also thanked the American minister for travelling to Ghana in 2022 to officiate his 30th wedding anniversary.
The President attributed his success in leadership to the grace and guidance of God, stressing the importance of the Church’s prayers and support as he serves the nation.
