MTN Ghana has expanded its DigiFest programme from a three-day event into a two-month digital skills and innovation programme targeting students, young people, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
The 2026 edition, launched at MTN House in Accra on Friday, will run through October and feature conferences, workshops, masterclasses and practical sessions in artificial intelligence (AI), gaming and UI/UX design.
The programme opened with a three-day Digital Fair where technology companies, startups, the University of Ghana and other partners showcased digital products and solutions.

MTN Ghana Chief Digital Officer, Ibrahim Misto, said the expanded programme was intended to give participants practical opportunities to develop digital skills and turn ideas into solutions.
This year’s activities include a gaming conference, UI/UX conference, AI conference and a series of masterclasses for participants and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
A major component will be the grand finale of the MTN-University of Ghana AI Hackathon, which will bring together students and developers to develop technology-based solutions, including local-language tools for agriculture and healthcare.
The programme will also feature panel discussions, focus groups and immersive sessions involving technology practitioners and other players in the digital ecosystem.

Speaking at the launch, MTN Ghana Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Blewett, said Ghana had people with the skills and ideas to develop solutions for both local and international markets.
He said the challenge was to move innovative ideas beyond conception and into practical applications that address real problems.
The Digital Fair was formally opened by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George.
The 2026 DigiFest is the second edition of the programme, following its maiden edition last year.
