Interior Minister, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, led a high-level delegation to the Tamil Nadu State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) in Chennai on Monday to study the state’s systems for crime-record management and the use of technology in policing.
The delegation was briefed on the Tamil Nadu Police’s Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), crime-data integration and digital maintenance of police records.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) T.S. Anbu, SCRB Director Sonal Chandra and Superintendent of Police S.P. Lavanya participated in the discussions with the Ghanaian delegation.
The Ghanaian delegation included Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, Professor Kwasi Oprey-Danso, and Diplomatic Adviser Muniru Kadiri.
During the meeting, Tamil Nadu Police officials explained the systems used to maintain crime records and support police administration. The discussions focused on how digital platforms are integrated into crime-record management and administrative processes.
The delegation also sought information on technology-driven policing systems and their application in the day-to-day work of police personnel.
Officials from Ghana and Tamil Nadu exchanged information and discussed approaches to police administration, crime-data management and the use of technology to strengthen policing processes.
The visit provided an opportunity for the two sides to share experiences on digital policing and systems for managing and using crime-related information.
