The current sitting member of Parliament for the Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, on the ticket of the Npp,Oboafo Kwadwo Asante, has officially this morning, declared his intentions of contesting the seat he currently occupies as an Independent candidate in 2024.

Oboafo Kwadwo Asante who believes Suhum will be better served with his continuous stay in parliament cited the lack of transparency, honesty, vision and love in the Npp as his decision to contest the seat as an Independent candidate.

The current MP believes the time has come for Ghanaians to do away with over-partisanship and think about the development of the country.

He believes the people and ancestors of Suhum are solidly behind him to contest as an Independent candidate.

The Npp during their flawed parliamentary primaries twisted the arms of delegates through monetary inducement from the the jubilee house to allow Samuel Asiedu Bekoe aka Protozoa to defeat the incumbent MP,a decision that voters in the constituency have never pardoned the Npp.

Meanwhile the movement for change welcomes the decision of the sitting MP to emulate the good example of Alan in contesting as an Independent Presidential candidate with the view to bringing Ghanaians together to building the country.
