The Electoral Commission (EC) has issued a stern warning ahead of the December elections, emphasizing that any officer caught engaging in electoral fraud will face serious repercussions.
In a recent press conference, Dr. Bossman Asare, the Deputy Chairperson of the EC, reiterated the commission’s unwavering commitment to upholding a free, fair, and transparent electoral process. He stressed that the EC has a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of misconduct by its officials.
Dr. Asare assured the public that the commission would not protect any officer—whether permanent or temporary—who is found guilty of tampering with the electoral process. Such individuals will be subject to severe penalties, including legal action.
“The commission wants to make it clear that it will not shield any of its officers involved in electoral malpractices. Those found complicit will face the full force of the law,” he stated.
