Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has urged members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to maintain peace, respect party rules and prioritise unity as constituency elections begin across the country.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Debrah extended his best wishes to aspirants, delegates and party members working to ensure the successful conduct of the internal elections.
He acknowledged the contributions of grassroots members, describing them as the backbone of the party and commending them for their commitment, time and resources, often without recognition.
“The strength of the NDC has always been its people—the men and women who give their time, energy and resources, often quietly and without recognition,” he said.
Mr. Debrah also commended all aspirants for offering themselves to serve the party and expressed confidence in delegates to exercise their voting responsibilities carefully and in the best interests of the NDC.
He called on party members to respect the rules governing the elections, conduct themselves peacefully and treat one another with dignity throughout the process.
The Chief of Staff further urged successful candidates to demonstrate humility and reach out to their opponents and supporters of other aspirants to ensure that no member is left behind.
According to him, the outcome of the elections should not undermine the contributions of members who may not emerge victorious, stressing that every party member has a role to play in advancing the NDC’s objectives.
“The work ahead requires all of us, united in our support for President John Dramani Mahama and our shared commitment to improving the lives of the Ghanaian people,” he stated.
Mr. Debrah emphasised that the party’s internal electoral process should strengthen rather than weaken its structures, urging members to ensure that every constituency becomes more united after the ballots have been counted.
He concluded by wishing the NDC family peaceful and successful constituency elections.
