Former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has embraced the party’s eighth position on the ballot for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
The position was determined during the Electoral Commission’s balloting exercise held on September 20, 2023.
In a Facebook post, Mahama expressed his enthusiasm for the number eight, viewing it as a powerful symbol of hope and change for the NDC as the country prepares for the polls on December 7, 2024.
“I am excited that we picked No. 8 on the ballot for the upcoming presidential elections. Let’s make this a number of hope and change on December 7,” he wrote, urging party supporters to rally behind the significance of the position.
Adding to the excitement, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin also endorsed the number, taking to social media to express his support. “8 is excellent. Don’t break it. Choose it!” he posted, signaling strong confidence in the party’s positioning ahead of the election.
With the 2024 election drawing closer, the NDC is gearing up for a high-stakes contest, with party leaders expressing optimism about the symbolic and strategic value of their ballot number.
