Lance Corporal Pabby Saraphina, a police officer stationed at the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters, is on the verge of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest painting marathon.
She has surpassed her initial goal of 110 hours, currently extending the marathon by an additional hours ,with her attempt set to conclude at 3:00 pm today.
Throughout the five-day nonstop session, Lance Corporal Pabby has completed nearly 100 nature-inspired paintings.
The current record stands at four days, but Pabby is determined to break it with a five-day streak.
Having applied for the record last year, she has been preparing for this moment, confident that her endurance and dedication will earn her the coveted title.
She also revealed her ambition of establishing an art gallery to showcase her talent and passion for painting.
Pabby is no stranger to the art world, having previously painted and presented a portrait of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Her marathon effort has garnered widespread support, with the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Twumasi Ankrah, and other senior officers visiting her to offer encouragement.
Police officers from across the region have also visited the venue to cheer her on as she nears the finish line.
The paintings are expected to be sold before the end of the marathon as part of the Guiness World Record requirement.
