The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into a violent attack on the convoy of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Running Mate in the Eastern Region on Friday, 29th November 2024.
Preliminary Police report indicates that the incident occurred between Akuse and Kpong, along the Akosombo – Accra Highway in the Eastern Region, when a dispatch rider from the opposite direction allegedly threw an object at the windscreen of a vehicle in the running mate’s convoy, causing damage to the windscreen.
The police statement said “We would like to assure the public that the matter will be thoroughly investigated as we are committed to ensuring the safety of all persons before, during and after the 2024 General Elections” .
