Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, has announced the formation of an exploratory committee aimed at engaging key stakeholders within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and listening to the voices of grassroots supporters across the country.

The initiative seeks to assess the alignment between his vision and the aspirations of both the party faithful and the broader Ghanaian populace.

This committee follows a hint from former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Lawyer Andy Appiah-Kubi, suggesting that the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, will contest for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidacy.

Speaking to the media, Lawyer Appiah-Kubi stated that preparations are underway for Dr. Acheampong to lead the party into the next presidential election, describing him as the ideal candidate to unify and revitalize the NPP.

In a detailed statement released to the public, Acheampong reflected on his extensive political journey and the current state of the NPP, describing the party as being at a “pivotal juncture” that demands unity and a renewed commitment to its foundational values.

“Dear Patriots and Beloved Ghanaians, I have taken time to reflect deeply on our journey as a Party and on my personal journey within our political tradition,” Dr. Acheampong stated.

He emphasized the importance of discipline, unity, and adherence to the core principles that have historically defined the NPP.

The exploratory committee, which Acheampong has constituted following encouragement from a wide range of party supporters and consultations with family and well-wishers, will undertake comprehensive engagements with grassroots members and other stakeholders.

The committee is tasked with gathering feedback and insights to determine how well Dr. Acheampong’s vision resonates with the party’s direction and the needs of Ghanaians.

According to Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the committee is expected to complete its work and report findings within four weeks.

The committee’s focus areas include Job creation, Food security, Youth and infrastructure development, Safety & security and Good governance.

These issues, Acheampong noted, are critical to Ghana’s progress and are central to the NPP’s agenda.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s political career spans several decades, encompassing grassroots organizing, party staff roles, parliamentary candidacy, and multiple terms as a Member of Parliament.

He has also served as Minister of State, Cabinet Minister, and a key financier of the party.

Acheampong concluded his statement with a message of hope and encouragement to party members and supporters, urging them to remain steadfast and decorous in their conduct as the NPP navigates its current challenges.

“To our footsoldiers and all NPP faithful, I firmly believe in the Party’s capacity to overcome its challenges and once again lead Ghana towards a brighter future,” he said.

“May we remain steadfast in spirit and decorous in conduct in the pursuit of progress, inclusivity, and effective leadership for Ghana. May God be our helper. With gratitude and resolve.”

His involvement in numerous party and parliamentary committees has provided him with deep insights into the sacrifices and strategic vision necessary to sustain the NPP.

“I have served the NPP faithfully, supported many, and helped shape impactful policies,” Acheampong affirmed.

“Everything within me and every resource at my disposal have been put to the service of the party, and I will continue to serve,” he added.
