The Ministry of Education has officially announced that the academic year will commence on November 7, 2024, rather than the previously stated date of October 30, 2024.
In a recent statement, the Ministry confirmed that the 2024 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is now operational.
Out of 563,339 results from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), 553,155 candidates qualified for placement. Of these, 447,698 (80.93%) were automatically assigned to their chosen schools.
However, 104,918 candidates could not be matched with their preferences; among them, 73,390 have been placed in similar institutions.
Students not placed are encouraged to utilize the Self-Placement platform to select schools of their choice.
The Ministry clarified that the process is free of charge, eliminating previous PIN code requirements.
“Registration and orientation for all institutions will start on October 30, 2024, with academic activities beginning on November 7”, the statement signed by Kwaku Kwarteng, explained.
The Ministry urges parents to report any fraudulent placement requests to authorities.
For assistance, students can visit the National Solution Centre in Accra or call the helpline at 0308258001.
