The Ashanti Regional Constituency Youth Organisers have named Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye as their patron in recognition of his financial support, commitment and contribution to the campaign of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The decision was announced when the youth organisers, led by Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser Martin Ameyaw, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Ayew Afriye to formally introduce their leadership and present him with a citation of appreciation.
According to the group, the citation recognised Dr. Ayew Afriye’s support and dedication to the party and to the campaign activities of Dr. Bawumia.
The youth organisers also used the occasion to formally designate Dr. Ayew Afriye as their patron, an honour he accepted.
In a further show of support, Dr. Ayew Afriye presented GH¢100,000 as seed capital towards a health welfare initiative being undertaken by the constituency youth organisers.
He encouraged the youth leaders to work diligently in their respective constituencies, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and remain united in their efforts to build support for the party.
Dr. Ayew Afriye also urged the organisers to remain committed to ensuring victory for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the 2028 general election.
He stressed that unity, commitment and hard work would be crucial to the party’s chances in the next election.
“If we stay together, with unity, commitment and hard work, victory is possible,” he told the youth leaders.
The meeting forms part of ongoing engagements between party leaders and youth organisers as the NPP begins preparations and grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2028 general election.
