Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is scheduled to formally present his candidature on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission.
According to a statement signed by the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, Dr. Bawumia would go along with some key figures of the party. “The Vice President and Leader of the Party would be accompanied by his Running Mate and Vice Presidential Candidate, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Party’s National Chairman and General Secretary, the Majority Leader in Parliament, and some few Party Leaders.”
Dr. Bawumia’s nomination filing is set to be followed by an address at the NPP’s national headquarters. “After filing his presidential nomination, the Presidential Candidate would be addressing party sympathizers and the general public at the Party’s National Headquarters at 9:00 a.m.,” the statement indicated.
The NPP also urged the public and party members to participate in this significant event. “Members of the Party and the general public are invited to be part of this historic moment of POSSIBILITY in Ghana’s Next Chapter,” the statement emphasized.
