Scottish giants Celtic are working on multiple deals to bolster the squad before the end of the transfer window with Ghana international being a key target.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed today that the Bhoys are working on a few deals, as the Bhoys look to challenge for the Scottish Premiership title next season as well.
Rodgers has also confirmed that he doesn’t wish to sell star midfielder Matt O’Riley this summer. There has been plenty of interest in the Denmark midfielder but Celtic will only sell him if the price is right.
According to the latest report from Sami Mokbel, Celtic are showing keen interest in signing Jeffrey Schlupp.
Writing on X, the Daily Mail journalist wrote that the Bhoys have made contact with Palace to inquire about the “versatile” midfielder.
The Ghana midfielder is a vastly experienced player and he would be a fantastic signing for Celtic.
He spent six seasons at Leicester City and made 150 appearances for the Foxes. He was part of the side under Claudio Ranieri that won the historic Premier League title in 2015-16.
Schlupp then moved to Crystal Palace and he has become a hero at Selhurst Park. The 31-year-old has made 231 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 19 goals.
The best thing about Schlupp is that he is a versatile midfielder. He can play as a central midfielder, a left winger, a striker, and as a left-wing back if needed.
He could make a massive difference to the side if Celtic can manage to get him on board. Schlupp has a few good years left in him and he could be tempted to join a huge club like Celtic where he would be playing European football next season.
