The President has appointed Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Thomas Oppong Peprah, alongside 17 distinguished Ghanaians, as Deputy Heads of Mission to various countries in a move aimed at strengthening Ghana’s diplomatic footprint across the globe.
General Oppong Peprah, who led the Ghana Armed Forces until his retirement, has been assigned to Canada.
Among the appointees is experienced international journalist and communication strategist Ben Dotsei Malor, a former BBC presenter and current United Nations News Editor, who will serve as Deputy Head of Mission to the United States of America.

A statement issued by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President, confirmed the appointments and conveyed the President’s goodwill to the nominees.
The statement urged them to “take the necessary steps to facilitate the appointment process for the persons listed above” and extended “the President’s highest regards.”
