A 39-year-old hairdresser and decorator in Akyem Asiakwa in Abuakwa South Municipality in Eastern Region,Ama Serwaa Konadu, has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown assailants with Nigerian ascent.
One of the videos of the victim calling for help has gone viral on social media few days ago.
Ama Serwaa, was last seen a week ago when she left home to buy supplies for her trade but never returned.
According to family members, the following day — Wednesday — a sister of Ama Serwaa received disturbing videos from her phone number, showing that she had been kidnapped by unidentified men claiming to be hiding in Nigeria.
The ordeal worsened on Thursday when the family received other disturbing videos showing Ama Serwaa Konadu naked with blood stains around her with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of Five Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵500,000) for her release.
The family say they have since lodged a formal complaint with the Ghana Police Service, the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), and the National Security Secretariat, who have commenced investigations into the matter.
Starr News has gathered that, the family has also informed the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Kingsley Agyemang to intervene.
The family has initiated effort to solicit funds to pay to the kidnappers believed to be hiding in unknown part of Ghana.
