A final-year student of the Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College has reportedly been murdered in Berekum Jinijini, in a suspected case of intimate partner violence.
The victim, 28-year-old Kyere Gifty, is believed to have been killed by her boyfriend, identified as 23-year-old Edmond Ayomah.

According to initial reports, Gifty had travelled from campus to visit Ayomah, but the visit ended in tragedy.
In a brief interview, Pastor Kyere Jonathan, father of the deceased and senior pastor of the Agape Evangelical Church in Jinijini, expressed deep sorrow and disbelief over the incident.
He urged law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice is served.

“We are devastated by this loss. I can only pray that the truth comes out and justice is done,” Pastor Kyere said.
The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the motive and full circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
The tragic case has sent shockwaves through the Jinijini community and sparked calls for increased awareness and action against gender-based violence.
