Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has inspected ongoing development projects in the Sekyere South District as part of his district tour, highlighting efforts by the government to improve education infrastructure and enhance service delivery.
During a working visit to the Sekyere South District Assembly, Dr. Amoakohene engaged staff of the assembly and discussed measures to strengthen local governance, improve public service delivery and accelerate development within the district.

The Minister also paid a courtesy call on Nananom of the Asante Asamang Traditional Area, where he expressed appreciation for their continued support, guidance and commitment towards the development of the district.

As part of the tour, Dr. Amoakohene visited the Asamang SDA Hospital and inspected major infrastructure projects being undertaken at Konadu Yiadom Catholic Senior High School through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

The projects at the school include the construction of a two-storey boys’ dormitory block, five two-unit staff bungalows, a three-storey 18-unit classroom block, and a dining hall with kitchen facilities expected to serve about 2,500 students.
The Minister was also briefed on other GETFund-supported projects within the district, including developments at Agona SDA SHS and Agona Senior High Technical School.
At Agona SDA SHS, ongoing projects include the construction of a two-storey administration block, a three-storey 18-unit classroom block and two two-storey dormitory blocks for boys and girls.

Agona Senior High Technical School is also benefiting from the construction of a multipurpose dining hall with kitchen facilities, a three-storey 18-unit classroom block and a two-storey boys’ dormitory block.
Dr. Amoakohene said the investments demonstrate President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to expanding educational infrastructure across the country and creating the needed capacity to end the double-track system in senior high schools.

He noted that improved classrooms, dormitories, dining facilities and staff accommodation would create better learning environments and support quality education delivery.
The Ashanti Regional Minister commended the Minister for Education and the GETFund Administrator for their leadership in advancing the projects, while also praising the District Chief Executive for Sekyere South, Hon. Evans Twumasi, for his efforts towards driving development in the district.
He assured residents that the government would continue working to ensure communities benefit from its development agenda.
